i've shared before that one of my favorite christmas movies is elf. perhaps my favorite line of the movie is the title of today's blog: "i just like to smile...smiling is my favorite." i love this simple quote. isn't it amazing the way your face feels when you smile - just light and free? or what about the feeling of pure joy when you see the way a smile lights up the faces of those you love? oh there's nothing like it! i suppose that's why i love proverbs 15:13 which says "a cheerful heart brings a smile to your face..."
i hope that you have had many smiles in december and in 2009. this has been a hard year, but trust me...i am keeping my heart open. i have found reasons to smile even in this season of trials. and with a smile, i am looking forward to all that is to come in 2010.
