one of the unexpected blessings from the hurricane that shall not be named (you know - THAT one), was my parents moving closer to us. for the past three years, they've lived about 10 minutes from our house. though i don't see them as often as you'd think i would, i drive through their little town every day on my way to work. it's a quaint, homey little place and there's a lot of community pride. this little town has consistently ranked in money magazine's top 100 places to live in the u.s. and it's just all around small town goodness!!! earlier this morning, i happened upon a blog maintained by one of their fellow citizens that tells all about the happenings there.
now here it is, an absolutely beautiful saturday, and i think my mom and i are off to enjoy some lunch at their new downtown cafe, la reunion (relocated from clairmont ave. in birmingham), and then head to the farmer's market set up in their local park. you can check out both of these locations by clicking here and here.
grace and peace,
dana
