after a month of craziness at work preparing for a huge event that my organization sponsors, i spent this weekend in a lazy state of relaxation and recuperation. lucky for me, one of my all time favorite movies (because of its imprint on my formative years) was on tv: ferris bueller's day off. what a sweet homage to taking the day off to relax! i was so inspired that i thought i'd share with you the top ten things i learned from this movie...
10. some of the best music you'll ever hear will be on a soundtrack to a movie.
9. charismatic slackers can rally people without even trying. charming, charismatic slackers can begin a movement.
8. lukewarm gummy bears are not an especially inviting treat.
7. you may just find true love in a police precinct.
6. staying in the movie theater through the credits might just bring you a little bonus!
5. always question what your car is doing once you've parked it in a garage.
4. when visiting an art museum, pay attention to the art you're observing.
3. if you should be so lucky as to happen upon a parade, stop and dance.
2. never underestimate the rejuvenating freedom of a day off - even if you have to play hooky.
and the most important thing i learned from ferris bueller's day off:
1. "life moves pretty fast. you don't stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it."
grace and peace,
dana
