tim brantley is my artist-du-jour. this guy has been described as being able to channel that am gold sound so prevalent in 70s rock. being a child of the late 70s and the 80s, i am digging this guy's sound.
the icing on the cake is that birmingham is blessed with the ear of a local radio guy named dave rossi. dave is spot on in picking artists who go on to become something amazing. kid you not, dave can be given a lion's share of credit in boosting the career of john mayer. john built a huge fan base in birmingham early in his career due to the fact that dave gave him major radio play. i mention all this because dave picked up on tim brantley's sound about a year ago and well...let's just say that tim has built a pretty solid following around the birmingham area. he's already had a couple of local shows here and performed on local tv. not bad for a guy just getting started, right?
his album won't "drop" until april, but it is available for digital download right now. check it out. let me know if you dig his sound, too!
