it's another beautiful day in birmingham. the leaves are vibrant - olives, rusts, ambers, golds, burgundies, chocolates - and rustling along in the wind. i can't wait to go out and capture some photos as the sun sets today...
sunset has always been my favorite time of day. i have a lovely memory - it's about 18 years old now - of my brother and i driving in his car at sunset during the week of thanksgiving. it was chilly and crisp outside. the colors of the sky were only matched by the colors of the leaves that were falling. bono's voice and the edge's guitar accompanied us as we aimlessly wandered roads near my grandparents' house.
i'm thinking that today a bit of grant lee phillips and his fabulous nineteeneighties will be my soundtrack. no? maybe a little glen hansard and the soundtrack from once? hmmm...something edgier? maybe my favorite guy ben and his innocent criminals and their beautiful lifeline? or really edgier? like my faves from wilco or the shins?
i'll just have to post some photos and tell you which music captured the moments perfectly. until then...
blessings to you,
dana
